Preferred Turf was privileged to work with the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta in providing Holy Family Primary School with a brand-new sports field.
Holy Family is a Catholic primary school in Emerton offering quality education for students K-6. The school leadership team contacted Preferred Turf looking for a practical and low-maintenance way to elevate their main outdoor play space.
Preferred Turf was tasked with designing the area to make the most of the available space, ensuring we provided adequate options for the large school. Our final design included three separate futsal fields to ensure students across different age groups could break up and play games. To avoid wasting any space, we also included a running track around the perimeter, following the curves of the playground boundary.
The school’s existing grassed oval was situated in an unusual corner area, featuring plenty of curves and very few straight lines. Installing our 40mm All Sports Synthetic Soccer Grass with precision was more challenging than a typical rectangular field, however despite the organic shape, our team was able to professionally fit the synthetic turf surface and create the linework with care and accuracy.
Working throughout the school holiday period added some time pressure to this project which was further compounded by wet weather issues, however our experienced installation team were able to ensure all works were complete before the return of students in the new term.
