St Joseph’s Primary School in Schofields required a revitalised playground that was both safe and inviting for its students. The Preferred Turf team worked with FAL Group & the St Joseph’s team to create an engaging layout, using our expertise to design a synthetic turf and rubber playground to surround the school’s covered sports court.
Using a combination of high-quality synthetic turf and Rosehill TPV rubber soft fall, we created an area that is safe, enjoyable and engaging for students. Preferred Turf was tasked with installing over 1,100m2 of our premium synthetic turf and over 400m2 of Rosehill TPV rubber soft fall surfacing in multiple colours and patterns.
The synthetic turf portion of this project utilised our specialty 35mm premium landscape grass, a natural-looking UV-stabilised turf with a soft feel and rugged construction to withstand regular use by students. To create movement and encourage creative exploration, the rubber surfaces included multiple sensory mounds and a custom-painted maze created by our skilled installers.
St Joseph’s needed the playground to be completed within an extremely tight timeframe, adding to the complexity of the project. Our installation team had to work quickly and efficiently to ensure that the project was completed in time for a major school end-of-year event. This involved precise coordination with other trades on site whilst ensuring that all work was completed on time and to the highest standards.
The design itself was also complex to deliver thanks to the inclusion of an intricate maze pattern which required high attention to detail. Despite these challenges, our professional installation team delivered an excellent quality project on time and within budget.
Preferred Turf was able to deliver a low-maintenance playground that exceeded St Joseph’s expectations, creating a safe and inviting playground for students to enjoy. Soft and comfortable, the rubber surfacing and sensory mounds have become a favourite spot for students to climb on and engage in active play.
